ONwebCHECK - Ubuntu 8.04 Beta

After 6 Alpha-Releases now there is the first Beta Release of Ubuntu 8.04 ´Hardy Heron´. I´d already tested one Beta version and everything was fine. The 8.04 will be the next LTS (Long-Term Support) version of the Ubuntu series.

Hardy Heron based on a Kernel 2.6.24 with a special KVM support (Kernel-based Virtual Machine). To use that option the CPU have to be able to handle it. (Intel VT or AMD-V)

So have a look at it, I like it very much.

Vista and Hotmail

That is really funny.... Yesterday I visited a friend of mine. He asked me for helping him to install some programs on his new computer with Windows Vista. He also asked me if I could sync his Hotmail-account with the e-mail program from Vista (Windows Mail). I said no problem. But – there was a problem because Windows Mail says it is not compatible to Hotmail. LOL. So if you want to use your old hotmail account you have to use an other mail program. But I ask myself why the new Windows Mail does not work together with Hotmail (also from Microsoft). The text question why to use Vista!?!?

365 days Windows Vista

Today is Windows Vista 1 year old. Microsoft itself celebrate the success of Vista and over 100 million sold licenses. But the question is how many of these Licenses are really used !? And all my customers demand Windows XP. People with Windows Vista ask me to install Windows XP. My opinion about Vista is that the new OS has some new features but it is to big - and it needs to many RAM and CPU and it is also much slower than Windows XP.
