AMD is the first manufacturer to deliver a 1 GHZ graphics through its ATI Radeon 4890 graphics card. AMD has announced the availability of the ATI Radeon 4890, a factory overclocked graphics processor that has surpassed the 1 GHZ speed barrier. The new ATI Radeon™ HD 4890 utilizes advanced GDDR5 memory coupled with its overclocked 1 GHZ processor to deliver 1.6 TeraFLOPs of computing power.

There are two versions of the AMD Opteron chip available. The second processor is a more enhanced version which will be available at the end of the month. IBM, Hewlett-Packard, Sun Microsystems and Dell are among 25 systems vendors who will be shipping servers this quarter with the new Opteron chip installed.
