Asus Radeon HD 4890

ASUS 'EAH4890 videocard is going to capture the attention of a lot of enthusiasts. ATI's Radeon HD 4890 has so far proved to be one of the fastest single-GPU videocards on the market. The closest performing counterpart from NVIDIA, the Geforce GTX 285, is significantly more expensive. Combine that with the ability to play pretty much any game at 1920 x 1200 resolution with all eye candy options turned to their maximum, and the ASUS EAH4890 HTDI/1GD5/A is a compelling videocard for anyone who's serious about having a high-quality gaming experience.

While the 4890 gulps down a maximum of 190 Watts under load, it sips just 60 Watts when idle, a third less than the 4870's 90 Watts at idle. That is, of course before you (or a third-party card vendor) overclocks the board to eke out a bit more performance. And this card is eminently overclockable.

I have always liked to pump power into my system. Years ago I was a huge fan of nvidia, but since have converted to ATI. I haven't gone back, mainly cause nvidia is expensive.
