Halo 3 gives Microsoft record start!
On it´s first sales day Halo 3 convert 170 million US Dollar! So it even break the cinema cash conversions of movies like Spiderman 3 or Harry Potter. Microsoft has more than 1,7 million advance booking. So it seems to become a real success. With that game Microsoft want to make the turn over for their Xbox-360, witch was until now not the big deal for Microsoft.

IPhone hackers react to the warning of Apple. The hacker form ´Dev team´, which unblocking Apple iPhone with open source software, reacted on the warning, for this week an announced iPhone update can make manipulated devices useless. Now the hacker wants to bring a software witch is able to bring the iPhone back to its original state. And of course they want to bring out a new unblocking software to fix the update broblem. That could become interesting......

The US manufacturer Apple warns according to reports among other things the BBC of the fact that the use to a irreparable damage of the equipment can lead iPhone with an not authorized mobile network operator. If on manipulated iPhone software updates by Apple were installed, it could become permanently useless. Thus users of unblocking Apple telephones could not come for example into the benefit for these days of a planned official update, with which they could by push of a button music in iTunes net curtain refer.
So you have to be careful and thing about it before taking action to unlock or manipulate your iPhone.

Need a hybrid drive?
Hmmm, but what is a hybrid drive? That is a new kind of hard disk - one part is like a usually hard disk and the second part (the new one) is a flash memory. The flash memory should buffer the data during normal use. And if the PC go to the sleep mode the data will be stored there and after the weak up the PC should go to the normal state much faster. OK that is what the manufacturer promise to you but is that really true?
I tested it here yesterday. In fact there is not much difference to a normal hard disk but the price!
Even the weak up after a sleep mode I can´t see any acceleration. I think the problem is the too small flash memory. Because if you have 1-2GB of RAM and only a 256-512MB flash memory in that disk that is really to small! I guess a 4GB or more flash memory would fix the problem. So we have to wait for the next generation of such hybrid drives.

Turbo PC 386-25
Don´t worry! That is not the newest top secret Computer. It is only a Sunday afternoon fun. Maybe some of you can still remember. PC with a 386 (SX) CPU - The SX extension means the CPU have no Coprocessor (A special processing unit that assists the CPU in performing certain types of operations. Here a math coprocessor performs mathematical computations, particularly floating-point operations). The main memory 1MB of RAM - No Joke! :) a 16Bit VGA card with 256KB and a huge hard disk with 80MB. The speed of the CPU is 25Mhz, but of course only when the Turbo button is switched on! And one more thing... the PC have no CD-ROM only a 3,5" Floppy Disk. But it works - with 3 Disk with 1,44MB each I installed the MS-Dos 6.22 ( I think that is the latest version of MS-DOS) A small and fast modification in the config.sys and autoexec.bat and the system is ready (mouse is working) Now further 7 Disk with MS Windows 3.11 :-) - Hey, and it´s pretty fast! Even a program like Word.
In fact you don´t need longer than to install a Windwos XP on a PC with 3GHz and 2GB of RAM.

How you can save money with new tech? The trend is clear - nearly every company now offers new products to their customers and promise that it save the environment and your money.
Of course that trend is very popular atm but there is also some truth on it. For example a modern car consumes less fuel than a old one. Some even use electricity support to lower the consumption. The same you can find in electronics e.g. Computer. The new generation of CPU´s and chipsets helps to save energy. So new tech not only save the environment but also your money. So if you want to buy new stuff so think about it and ask the salesman about it. It saves your money in the future.

Intel´s 32nm Chip!!
Intel demonstrates a 32nm chip and Next-Generation Nehalem Microprocessor Architecture. ATM I use a Intel Core 2 Duo CPU and I really like it! Fast & Cool - that was what I missed for such a long time. So I only look forward to the next generation of CPU´s. (Image from Intel)
USB 3.0
The latest information about USB 3.0 is that it should be about 10x faster then USB 2.0!
USB 3.0 will operate with 5 GBit/s and is compatible to USB 2.0. There will also be
some further features like a better efficiency at the datatransfer and an improve in saving energy.

AMD with a 3Core CPU (update)
.... and now it is for sure! AMD will ship out a 3Core CPU in the beginning of 2008. In fact it is a Quad Core CPU with only 3 enabled cores. With that AMD is able to increase their efficiency of their wavers. That step is in deed nothing new but a good way to get more profit. It is better to sell a 3Core CPU in stead of only a Dual-Core.

Make money fast
If you want to earn some money and are searching in the Internet you will find a mass of advertisements about that. So you have only to choose the right one. But how do you can separate them? What is serious and what a fake? One indicator for a serious company is the name. If you know it well or you find many positive articles about that company that can let you hope the offer is really serious. If they promise much money in a short time and you have not to work for it be very carefully! If there is a offer like that and is serious and you all ready made good experience with them - that's luck! ehmmm... pssst... let me please know :-)

AMD and rumors about a 3Core CPU
The latest rumors about AMD is that AMD what to bring up a 3Core CPU between the 2Core and 4Core CPU. A possible name could be "Phenom X3" But atm there are no more information about it. Up to now there is also no statement from AMD delivered. I will let you know.

new iPODs
Scarcely two weeks ago is it that Apple presented the youngest generation of the iPod family. Now user and software developers announce themselves to word. It is no longer possible to transfer your songs into the iPod without iTunes.
The problem concerns mainly the Linux groups. In the past it was possible to fill the iPod under Linux with programs as gtkpod, Rhythmbox or Amarok.
We will see whether there will be a change from Mac side or if Linux users have to take care of this problem them self.

AMD with Quad Core Opteron
With a delay of six month AMD now shipping out their new AMD Quad Core Opteron CPU. This CPU is made in a 2 Socket (Opteron 23xx) and up to 8 Socket version (Opteron 83xx) for Workstations and Servers.
AMD hopes with their new Quad Core CPU Barcelona (alias K10) to rebound the server market and they promise the customer that this CPU is faster and more efficient then a Intel Xeon. Now we will see the reaction of Intel. Some faster CPU´s or lower the prices? The next battle is started.
So we can look forward to some new CPU´s with a good pricing.

Be very careful with your Data on your Hard disk before give it away! Only 30% of the users do erase their hard disk (or other storage e.g. USB-Stick, SD-Card....)
Some people forget it or even don´t think about it to clear the Hard disk before the give it away.
Other people don´t know how they have to do it. If you think to format a Hard disk is all you have to do - very bad! They are so many Tools you can use for bringing back your data even after formatted it. So be careful and do it right. Get a tool (normally for free) or use one of the many Linux systems to erase it without leave a chance to reconstruct the data.
The most important thing is that you now know about it what to do. Or you want to leave some sensitive or very private data on a hard disk which you give away?

I prefer to do it with Linux - OK - not so comfortable but I´m 100% sure that it works how it should.
Start up a Linux (Live-CD/DVD or Install CD)/DVD) (but do not install :-)
go to the command prompt and write
* Beware only plug in the hard disk you want to erase!
dd if=dev/null of=/dev/hda (It will overwrite the hard disk with "0" (Zero)
dd if=/dev/random of/dev/hda (It will overwrite the hard disk with random "100110111..."
* Beware only plug in the hard disk you want to erase!
