A new firmware update permits Wake on LAN to your PS3. Sony Computer Entertainment published the firmware 2,0 for the PlayStation 3. She can be loaded over the automatic update function of the console. Most important innovation is the Wake on LAN function.
By it the console does not have to remain switched on any more the whole time, if the user liked to use the remote Play function. It can switch the PS3 on now with the PlayStation portable one (PSP) over the Internet, if it liked to streaming music or films to the PSP and switch off it afterwards again. The PSP needs to it the current firmware 3.72.

Hmmmm - this will make gaming rather interesting! PS3 players will definitely be pleased as this will really contribute to a good game ...
Very nice feature! I haven't actually got a PSP but if Sony keep introducing innovative uses for it like this then I may have to get one for when I'm on the go! Thanks for the info.

I have just purchased a PS3. Luckily for me it already had the wake on lan! Firmware was updated to the latest drivers! I would recommend people to check first if they actually needed this update!
