AMD with Quad Core Opteron

With a delay of six month AMD now shipping out their new AMD Quad Core Opteron CPU. This CPU is made in a 2 Socket (Opteron 23xx) and up to 8 Socket version (Opteron 83xx) for Workstations and Servers.
AMD hopes with their new Quad Core CPU Barcelona (alias K10) to rebound the server market and they promise the customer that this CPU is faster and more efficient then a Intel Xeon. Now we will see the reaction of Intel. Some faster CPU´s or lower the prices? The next battle is started.
So we can look forward to some new CPU´s with a good pricing.
